Dave Porter began his professional photography career in 1989. After graduating from Art Center College of Design, he moved to the San Francisco bay area, and began working on location photography. Dave’s interest in the outdoors and nature eventually led to accounts with local publishers doing destination guides for the San Francisco Bay area. In addition, his work has been used in many national advertising campaigns, calendars and magazines.

Since 1988 until the present his work has been represented by Getty Images, Alamy, and Index Stock. Dave’s love of dogs evolved into an ongoing relationship with Brown Trout Publishers, culminating into years of specializing in capturing many unique dog breeds in images published throughout the Brown Trout calendar line. Most recently Dave has begun sharing his creativity and vast experience with others by participating in teaching photographic workshops around the country. Dave now resides in San Jose with his wife Susan.
