Equipment list

  • Sturdy tripod
  • Digital camera
  • Wide angle lens (24mm or wider)!
  • Long lens - 200mm is plenty, 300 or light 400 is optional
  • Extra media cards
  • Camera battery charger
  • Zip lock bags come in handy for stuff during the rain or sandy conditions.

Optional

  • Laptop computer will come in handy for viewing your files in the field.
  • Camera flash with off camera extension.
  • Marc and Andy will bring their Really Right Stuff pano equipment and demonstrate how it all works. They will also bring their 24mm tilt shift lenses and demonstrate how to combine two exposures of the same scene in photoshop to turn his 16megapixel camera into a 22megapixel camera.
  • We use a camera backpack that also holds several items for short hikes, such as a sack lunch and water. the longest hike planned would be two miles both directions if we decide. However, most shooting will be within a half mile of the cars.
