Death Valley in California is home to some of the most varied and unique conditions in nature: Wildflowers, snow-capped mountains, and the hottest temperatures recorded on Earth.
Pro photographers Andy Williams and Marc Muench will be teaming up to lead you through this astonishing environment. In April, the weather is mild and the spring winds sweep the dunes clean of footprints. Don't miss this incredible opportunity to discover and photograph Death Valley at its best!
We have the auditorium in Stove Pipe Wells reserved for reviewing your images each day. There is no better way to practice and apply what the pros are teaching you than to get detailed, immediate feedback.

- Shooting near and far
- Seeing and constructing sweeping panoramas
You'll learn valuable photography techniques to help you shoot throughout the week and beyond. We'll be visiting some of the more unusual locations including the sand dunes, Badwater, Zabriskie Point, Dante's View, and the infamous Race Track with its mysterious "sailing stones."
What To Bring
- Sturdy tripod
- Digital camera
- Wide angle lens (24mm or wider on a full frame sensor, the equivalent on cropped sensors)
- Long lens - 200mm is plenty, 300 or light 400 is optional
- Extra media cards
- Extra Camera batteries
- Zip lock bags come in handy for stuff during the rain or sandy conditions.
- Polarizing Filter
- Flash offering highspeed sync (Canon Speedlight 580EX or 580EX II or equivalent)
- Cable, for off camera positioning (OC-E3or equivalent)
- Remote Switch (RS-80N3 or Timer Remote Controller TC-80N3, or equivalent)

- Meet at Stove Pipe Wells by 3:pm for early dinner and then evening shoot on the Dunes.
- Evening slideshow and lecture.

- Sunrise shoot at Badwater, followed by a visit to the artist palette.

*You are responsible for getting to and from our meeting point at Stovepipe Wells, in the Park. Everything is covered from the time we meet you there up to the time we finish breakfast on the last day. The fee for this workshop is based on double occupancy. There is an extra charge if you wish to room singly.
