Muench Studios Print Workshop
April 19-20, 2008
Goleta, CA
This two-day intensive workshop will show you that printing color is not smoke and mirrors!
When this weekend is over, you should be able to walk into any lab
in the world, un-calibrated monitors and all, and make a fine art
print.
There are many industrial strength instruments capable of
creating the theoretically perfect color balanced workflow in this
day and age. However, what needs to be understood prior to making
the final refining touches with such instrumentation is what
really happens when the ink meets the paper.
This weekend course will cover subjects including:
- color by
numbers
- proper monitor calibration
- evaluation of different paper
types
- when to use a UV coating laminate
or display glass
- how to make your own
gallery wrapped canvas
We will have the opportunity to print on a
minimum of four different types of media, ranging from semi gloss
to the new LexJet Sunset Fibre Elite
(PDF link) media designed to resemble
classic wet process darkroom paper.

Printing on canvas
This will be a great opportunity to learn a unique craft that you can use to create completed works of art in your own back yard. Marc will be teaching his "no visible fold" technique for gallery wrapped canvas.
Learn the art of turning RAW image files into your personal vision.
Lightroom is great but can only make global changes. We will be spending time making edits/enhancements to regions of your images with the use of quick masks in Photoshop.
